Claim Procedure
Step 1: Prepare the information or documents
Policy number
An 8-digit numbers combination that you may find in your policy
Open policy
An 7-digit alphanumeric combination that you may find in your policy
Notice of claim against carrier
- Statement of adjustment/Claim bill
You may need to prepare the following information/documents according to your claim.
- Bill of lading/airway bill/delivery order
- Full set of invoice & packing list
- Exception remarks upon receipt
- Delivery receipt
- Arrival notice/devanning report
- Incident report
- Container interchange receipt/equipment interchange receipt
Photo(s) showing the packing damage or damage to the insured matter
E.g.: devanning photos etc.
- Shortland certificate
Other relevant document(s)
E.g.: QC report, survey report, repair quotation, etc.
Step 2: Complete the online claim form
- Your contact details
- Claimant details
- Select the claim type and fill in the relevant information
- Your bank account details
- Upload supporting documents

Step 3: Submit
Upon completion, you will be assigned a tracking number. We will contact you shortly afterwards. You will also receive an email notification from us.
Step 4: Check claims status online
You can easily check your claims status anytime, anywhere, ensuring you stay informed throughout the process.






Step 5: Direct bank-in to your bank account
We will direct bank-in to your bank account once the submitted claim form has been approved.

Step 3: Submit your completed claim form and all relevant documents within 30 days of the accident to MSIG’s office address by post

Contact our nominated survey/settling agent to conduct a cargo inspection/investigation. Our settling agent will notify and assist us in processing the claim case accordingly.
Once the cargo is discovered damage upon its arrival at Hong Kong, please notify us about the cargo damage immediately and we shall then appoint a competent surveyor to conduct a cargo inspection.
- Identify the cargo loss.
- File notices to us immediately and file a written notice of claim against the forwarders or the carriers.
- Gather claim documents along with supporting documents.
- If the loss is covered by the policy, the survey fee will be paid by us. Otherwise, the cargo owner will have to pay the survey fee.
- Incomplete claim forms cannot be accepted for processing of claims.
- We may contact you for further information.
- It is important that a complete answer be given to every question. If insufficient space is provided for your answers, please continue on a separate sheet.
