MSIG Asia today announced a strategic equity investment and regional partnership with travel insurance technology provider, Ancileo, to accelerate its travel insurance growth across Asia.
A leading general insurer in Asia and a major player in the regional travel insurance market, MSIG is widely recognised for its travel insurance offerings in Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, where travellers increasingly expect fast and seamless support, MSIG Hong Kong achieved a travel insurance claims settlement ratio of 96.3% in 2025, reflecting its continued focus on strengthening protection solutions for more digital and connected travel journeys.
Together with Ancileo, MSIG will introduce differentiated travel protection that is personalised, intuitive and easier to claim, built around the moments that matter most to travellers. For airlines, online travel agencies (OTAs) and other travel ecosystem partners, this creates a compelling value proposition: integrated protection that strengthens customer engagement and can be deployed across markets with greater speed and agility, without the structural complexity that has traditionally constrained expansion.
The partnership comes amid rapid intra-regional travel growth, driven by expanding connectivity across Asia Pacific and rising demand for seamless, digital-first journeys. Travellers increasingly expect protection to be integrated within airline and OTA bookings, prompting insurers to embed coverage directly at the point of purchase. The collaboration strengthens MSIG’s digital capabilities and distribution connectivity to capture opportunities across the travel ecosystem amidst these market shifts.
Clemens Philippi, CEO of MSIG Asia, said:
“This marks another strategic milestone in MSIG’s growth in this region. We are investing in high-impact growth initiatives to strengthen our leadership position in the Asia’s general insurance market and advance our ambition of achieving over 15% compound annual growth in profit after tax by 2029. This partnership sharpens our competitiveness and accelerates our digital capabilities as travel continues to expand rapidly across the region. By combining with Ancileo’s technology and distribution expertise, we will deliver faster, more relevant experiences for travellers and create long-term value for our partners and customers.”
Philip Kent, CEO of MSIG Hong Kong, said:
“Hong Kong travellers expect speed, clarity and reassurance—especially when something goes wrong. Through this partnership with Ancileo, we are strengthening how we support our customers at every stage of their journey. Our flagship travel product, iTravel Go, reflects this commitment, with thoughtful features such as Cancellation of Journey for Any Reason and MSIG Easy Lounge, which provides timely care and assistance when travellers need it most. By making protection more intuitive and claims simpler to complete, we are giving travellers greater peace of mind and the confidence to enjoy their journeys, knowing that reliable support is always within reach.”
Olivier Michel, Founder & CEO of Ancileo, added:
“MSIG has been a valued partner of Ancileo for years, and today's announcement reflects what we believe a true long-term partnership can become. But we are not here to do more of the same. Our goal is to reimagine what B2B2C travel insurance looks like in Asia — protection that partners are proud to offer and travelers are glad to have.”
