A big thank you to everyone who participated in the MSIG HK50 Lantau 50 cum Skyrunning Asian Championship on December 3, 2017. Nearly one thousand athletes from near and far took part in the race which was hosted on Lantau Island.

Many elite runners from across Asia joined the race, bringing their own fans and media representatives from their home countries. This lent the event a strong cosmopolitan flavour, and a real sense of shared community.

Cristofer Clemente from Spain crossed the finish line in five hours, 49 minutes to win the men’s race, and Nepalese skyrunning legend Mira Rai was the victor in the women’s race.

As presenting sponsor, MSIG is proud to have supported this uniquely challenging sport for 7 years. Trail runners call on great reserves of technical skill and endurance. They literally go above and beyond in every race, and that’s an attitude that resonates well with MSIG brand values.

Many MSIG staff and business partners joined the race too, cheered on by colleagues and friends. We always enjoy these opportunities to spend time with our partners and colleagues outside of work.

The final race of the 2017/18 MSIG Series will be the Sai Kung 50, coming soon on 10 February 2018. We look forward to seeing you again there.
