During the rainy season, Hong Kong’s weather is quite unstable with typhoons and rainstorms which often cause a lot of damage and disruption. In recent years, there have been multiple incidents of window glass damage when super typhoons approached Hong Kong.

Does home insurance provide cover for window glass being damaged by typhoons?

First, move household items or electrical appliances away from any influx of water. Don’t be tempted to throw away the damaged items or try to fix them yourself. Instead, you should carefully take photos or videos as these will be used as evidence for any subsequent insurance claim.
