MSIG x Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden Tour 2022

08 Feb 2023

As part of our commitment to protecting biodiversity for a sustainable future, we always collaborate with different NGO partners to protecting and enhancing the resilience of our ecosystems.

In partnership with the Conservation International Asia-Pacific (CIAP), we proudly provide support to CIAP’s local partner, Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) in its botanical research to better understand species’ adaptation and resilience against natural disasters and human impact. On 17 December 2022, a team of 15 MSIG staff, their family members and friends, including our CEO Philip Kent and his family got together to participate in a green tour in the KFBG at Tai Po.

Although the weather was gloomy with the temperature dropping to 8 degrees Celsius, we all were energetic and passionate about learning new green knowledge and the best practice of tree nursery, tree planting and gardening at the workshop delivered by the Farm’s Flora Conservation Department.

Plus, we had a few kilometers hike to our sponsored nursery tree planting site for removing weeds around those young trees. With the collaborative efforts between MSIG and KFBG, we anticipated that those young trees would gradually enhance the biodiversity at Tai Mo Shan and help sustain our environment.

We will continue to organise more green sessions at the Farm for our staff in 2023, so please stay tuned!
