Hospital cash insurance gives you cash based on the number of days you are in the hospital. It helps compensate for lost income while you're hospitalized, which can be very helpful. No matter how much your medical bills or whether you are in a public or private hospital, you can receive daily cash benefits for each day you stay. For example, you will be entitled to HK$5,000 claims amount for 5 days’ hospitalisation if you’re insured under the HK$1,000 daily cash benefit. The cash can help you meet your urgent financial needs.
If you do not have a stable income, worry about losing income if you need hospitalization, and do not want to fight for deadlines when you are hospitalized, hospital cash insurance can provide a daily cash benefit to ease your pressing financial needs. Even if you have a full-time job, hospital cash can provide additional financial support. You do not need to worry about losing income during confinement.
While in the hospital, your medical insurance may not cover all the expenses. These can include transportation costs to and from the hospital, meals for visitors, health supplements, and any special Chinese herbs or tonics. When this happens, hospital cash insurance can be beneficial, providing daily cash benefits to ease your financial burden.
Additionally, should your hospital expenses exceed your medical insurance limit, you must pay the difference yourself. The daily hospital cash from CarePlus can help cover some or all of that extra cost.
For self-employed individuals, daily hospital cash can also serve as income support while you are in the hospital.
Your hospital cash insurance is an individual policy. You can claim from both policies if you have hospital cash insurance from different insurance companies.
CarePlus Hospital Cash Insurance provides worldwide coverage. We will pay you a daily cash benefit for days spent in hospital confinement outside Hong Kong.
No medical examination is required; you only need to answer one simple health question to apply.
Pregnancy, childbirth (including surgical delivery), miscarriage which is not a result of accident, abortion and prenatal or postnatal care, are not covered under CarePlus Hospital Cash Insurance. In these situations, customers will not receive any payout.
Hospital cash insurance helps cover lost income while you're in the hospital, whereas medical insurance pays for your medical bills. They can work well together to cover what each doesn't. If you have expenses during your hospital stay that medical insurance won't cover, or if you lose income while hospitalized, hospital cash insurance can provide daily cash benefits. To cover medical expenses and compensate for lost income, you can get medical and hospital cash insurance.
