MSIG scoops 3 awards at the HR Distinction Awards 2020

MSIG is to be honoured with three remarkable awards at the HR Distinction Awards 2020. These are “Excellence in Change Management – Gold Award”, “Excellence in Learning & Development – Gold Award” and “Excellence in Innovative Business Solutions – Silver Award”.

The HR Distinction Awards recognise the best within the human resources profession in Hong Kong. The awards cover all areas of human capital management and are actively participated in by sizable corporates from sectors such as banking and insurance.

 

MSIG scoops 3 HR awards

MSIG Hong Kong won two gold and one silver awards in the HR Distinction Awards 2020. Mr. Philip Kent, CEO (fifth from left), Mr. Alan Yue, SVP, Information Technology (fourth from left) and Ms. Crystal Chan, SVP, Human Resources & Business Excellence (fifth from right) celebrate the joy of winning big with the Human Resources team and management trainees.

 

MSIG’s winning stories for each award across the three categories are as follows:

Excellence in Change Management – Gold

This award recognises excellence in the ability of an organisation to plan, execute and manage the transformation process of a business project. MSIG achieved the top award by demonstrating the full application and integration of Agile Scrum methodology, with its own core insurance system development, and which was launched in January 2019. This company-wide transformation created a ripple effect among employees by instilling digital and change mindsets. This iconic digitalisation project has resulted in a growth in quality business, higher efficiency and enhanced customer experience.

 

Excellence in Learning & Development – Gold

Companies which have implemented innovative learning and development programmes that exceed their business aims and contribute to their bottom line are eligible for this award. In 2019, MSIG established the brand-new MSIG Digital Academy, which focuses on empowering all employees to learn, practise and adopt core digital knowledge and skills, such as Design Thinking, Agile, AI and automation, and deploy the concepts on real business projects and work-related situations. Another highlight of 2019 was MSIG Digital Day. For this event, MSIG invited prestigious tech companies and start-ups, including Microsoft, UiPath, EONIQ, MindLayer and Animae Technologies, to demonstrate their cutting-edge technological innovations. 

 

Excellence in Innovative Business Solutions – Silver

This award champions companies which have developed innovative and ethical solutions for resolving organisational challenges as they arise. Again, MSIG harnessed the Agile Scrum methodology to cope with changes within the company that began in 2017 and culminated in a full transformation in 2019, and targeted to drive a digital mindset among employees. After undergoing a range of purpose-driven training and development interventions, project teams reported a satisfaction rate of 97%. Applying this methodology helps shorten turnaround times for business projects and creates new ideas to address project complexity.
