Heep Hong Society’s Pre-Job Services for Autistic Youths Win Recognition
Redevelopment of its new 10-story Service Tower to dedicate more resources
2014 marks a new milestone in Heep Hong Society’s pre-job services for autistic teens. Initiated and sponsored by MSIG for the past 6 years, the services have been so well received that it no longer ends up with a simple job-matching exercise now. Many employers wish to have job placement too, giving light to Heep Hong Society the need to expand its service scope to better cater to the increasing needs of employers and autistic youths.
The ground-breaking ceremony of Catherine Lo Centre opened a new chapter of Heep Hong Society on 29th March 2014. The 40-year-old Centre will be re-developed into a brand new 10-story service tower in three years, the first of its kind in Hong Kong that provides one- stop all-rounded services to children with special education needs and teenagers who need pre-job training.
Service highlights to be provided in the new service tower:
- A coffee shop, a library and a computer room will be established as social enterprises to provide diversified pre-job training and employment opportunities to autistic youths.
- A parent resources center will be established to provide comprehensive services to families with special needs.
- It will also provide additional 1,180 training quota for those who are in need, 180 of which are specifically for children aged 0-6
In 2014, MSIG continues our sponsorship to the Pre-Job Training Program for autistic youths.
